The nomination process for The 2009 Weblog Awards began today and will run through November 20, 2009 November 22, 2009.

Nominate your choice for 2009's Best Blog.

Best New Blog

Nominate your choice for Best New Blog. There's a separate category for Best New Political Blog, so please don't nominate those blogs here. The blog must have been established after November 3, 2008 - when last years nominations opened.

Nominate your choice for Best New Political Blog. The blog must have been established after November 3, 2008 - when last years nominations opened.

Best Humor Blog

Nominate your choice for 2009's funniest blog. You may nominate individual bloggers, individual bloggers who contribute to community or group sites, or individual blogs.

Best Comic Strip

Nominate your choice for Best Comic Strip. Eligible strips should appear online and/or be the subject of a blog by the strip author.

Nominate your choice for Best Online Community. Blog format is not required, so forums and other types of communities are eligible.

Best Liberal Blog

Nominate your choice for Best Liberal Blog.

Nominate your choice for Best Conservative Blog.

Best Political Blog

Nominate your choice for best blog coverage of politics in 2009.

Nominate your choice for Best Individual Blogger. The nominated author may write for an individual blog or be a member of a community or group site. Nominate by the bloggers name and primary site.

Nominate your choice for Best Diarist.

Best Twitterer

This is a new category for this year. Nominate your choice for Best Twitterer. There's a separate category for Best Celebrity Twitterer, so those folks should be nominated there.

Nominate your choice for Best Celebrity Twitterer. The definition of celebrity will remain deliberately vague, but suffice it to say that it will be helpful to a celebrity Twitterer's chances if they have appeared at some point on TV, movies, records, radio, etc. For non-celebrity Twitterer's use the Best Twitterer category.

Nominate your choice for Best Technology Blog.

Best Sports Blog

Nominate your choice for Best Sports Blog.

Nominate your choice for Best Military or Gun Blog. Blogs by members of the armed forces, blogs that primarily deal with military issues, blogs dealing with guns or militia issues are appropriate for this category.

Best Law Blog

Nominate your choice for Best Law Blog.

Best Business Blog

Nominate your choice for Best Business Blog. This category encompasses blogs that frequently cover such things as economics, marketing, business strategy, consulting, etc.

Best LGBT Blog

Nominate your choice for Best LGBT Blog. LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered.

For The 2009 Weblog Awards open and public nominations in 50 categories began on November 3, 2009. Voting for selected finalists is expected begin January 4, 2010.
